What are Hydro Excavations?
The term hydro excavations is the technical term for digging holes with water. This process is done with a large hydro excavation truck that has a large vacuum unit on it. Hydro excavation allows us to cut the ground using high-pressure water.
This process is an exceptional way to excavate around utilites, driveways, and other things such as gas lines underground. It is an incredibly safe way to excavate with very minimal damage.
How do you know when you need a hydro excavation?
Generally, this service is not usually done in a residential setting, it typically is used for commercial settings. If you do have a residential right of way and a road with a busted water main or sewer, and you don’t want a big mess of your yard, we could use this hydro excavation truck to take care of your problem. You may see this process happening where there is a water main break or standing water.
In a commercial setting, you may see this truck in a large parking lot that is flooded with standing water. This process would suck out the water, clean the drain out and can even jet the storm water and sanitary lines.
“As Needed” VS. Routine Maintenance
In a residential setting, hydro excavation is more of a as needed service. While for commercial hydro excavation, there may be maintenance contracts in place. Bigger parking lots and fire hydrants for bigger businesses sometimes need more TLC and this process allows for digging those up in such a way that is neat and clean.
For commercial maintenance, we recommend quarterly hydro excavations services. However, we are able to work with you to find out when and how often is appropriate for your hydro excavation services.
